#WellnessWednesday – Water

Hi Friends! Happy New Year!

It’s a new year and I really wanted to circle back to the roots of Wellness Wednesday – supporting and celebrating you on your wellness journey!

How are you doing with your wellness goals? How can we celebrate your wins and support you through the next week to take one positive step towards your goal?

My heart really wants what’s best for you so you’ll see this theme a  L O T, so much in fact that at the top of 2022, this topic is getting it’s own spotlight!

This Week’s Topic: WATER!!

Fast Fact 1: Thirst masks itself as hunger, many of us consume empty calories or open and close the fridge 47 times because our brain is receiving a signal but hunger gets “heard” first. Try grabbing your favorite vessel and fill it with H2O!

Fast Fact 2: Histamines get released when we’re dehydrated. What does that mean for you?  Allergies and asthma can flair during dehydration. *record scratch* that’s crazy! Bodies are so cool…

Fast Fact 3: When dehydrated, our brain shrinks. Drinking water helps our decision making and helps us sleep better. Suggestion: cut back on water two hours before bedtime though, to decrease night-time bathroom visits.

So whether it’s bottled, canned, flavored, sparkling or tap – unsweetened water is the secret hero on your wellness journey!

Pro Tip: Ice melting in your mouth (think hospital ice chips) gets absorbed into your body quicker than water.
